as far as the RULES go...
i saw danny gracia toss danny byrds chevy II at indy this year because the seat was from a 4 door chevy II (did not fold). he was not allowed to race. rule says stock interior & upholstery jack mccarthy call MJ Quinn 502-499-0140 he can help you with seats / weight
