It looks like minivan might be gone...

So can yo experts out there tell me what various models the turbos came in? The omnis and any of the other shelby branded models are nearly impossible to find and going up in value, so i would like to find a dodge branded turbo car.

Back in the '70's and '80's, Dan Rockwell in Div.1 had a very strong Pinto wagon...I think it ran either V/S or W/S?? Wheelies back then, 14 second e.t.'s. with a 4-speed??? Not sure if trans was 'stock'....rear end was, initially I think, then he changed to 9"?

Thanks for the info!

Ok one last question.....

I thought that i'd seen someone race an Eagle Talon AWD Turbo in stock. But I do not see Eagle listed in the classification guide.

Is it not a legal combo for Stock?

Thumbs up Re: 4 cylinder cars?

1988 -1990+ Quad 4 Oldsmobile Calais was a great car to run. We ran both automatics and sticks. The engine was very reliable, and has a lot more potential than we ran it at. Qualified #1 at eleven NHRA National events in 1989 ! Consistent Class winner .

92 Plymouth Laser is in the book but I think now you can only run FWD version, could have been different a few years ago.

If a car cannot be found in the guide, is there any way of having considered for the classification guide?

The manufacturer has to provide the specs to NHRA, you'll have to find someone at the OEM to provide them. For Ford/GM/Chrysler NHRA tech may know who at the OEM you would have to call. Outside that I'm not positive where you'd start-probably call NHRA and get a list of the specific items they need.

I know i'm asking a lot of questions, but the more research i do the more i have.

So i'm now looking at the Ford Probe turbo car as a possibility. It is in the guide in '91 through '93 but it says NES (no engine spec). Why is it even in the guide if they don't have any specs for it?

Okay, here it is, some vintage video of Dan Rockwell's Pinto

If interested in a Full length DVD, almost a hour long, of this 1981 Connecticut Dragway NHRA Points meet, which includes Stock and Superstocks (imagine, no GT cars or 3rd Generation Camaro's!) Modified with Alky FC and Dragster (one with a SOHC Ford Cammer motor!) and some Super Gas email me at will427@optonline.net
