Default Freshly coated headers

Just got a set headers back from Nitro Plate. They are going back to be redone (dont ask I am already upset about it enoughf and the guy that owns them is REALLY pissed) But anyways I dont want them to look any worse. What do you guys do to the headers before firing up the engine with them for the first time. I have heard it is good to wipe them down before and after, But with what thinner, brake clean, denatured alcohol ect. Let me hear what you guys like to do. Last set was done by jet hot and they looked like sh in less than 6 months. do you guys just install and make passes or should I get them hot and let them sit and cool off before making passes. Nitro plate did not send any instructions for proper "break in" and I think its too late to get them and he would like to test tomorrow or sunday if possible.

thanks in advance for your help
Rob
