Default Large 16AN Stainless Braided Hose - best cutting method

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong area of the Forum..... If so, my apologies.

Regarding cutting 16AN Fragola 3000 series Steel Braided Hose:

On smaller 3000 series Hose (i.e., 6AN – 12AN), I usually use a large pair of Klein Cable Cutters with approx. 20”+ length Handles. This works great, but I am getting ready to cut some much larger Fragola 16AN size 3000 Hose and don’t want to “tear it up.” I think the Klein Cutters will be way too small for this job.

On smaller Fragola AN Hose, I’ve also tried Hacksawing and even Chop Saw cutting using an Abrasive Blade, but don’t really like the Chop Saw route, due to excessive debris/mess, etc. In one case a while back (on a 12AN stainless braided Hose that came from Aerospace Engineering with a new Vacuum Pump I had purchased, I used an Abrasive Chop Saw and was surprised to find that the inner rubber Hose had separated from the outer stainless braiding!....It looked like the “glue”?? or bonding Tape?? “broke down,” due to the excessive heat of the cutting operation and failed. The inner Hose would then actually slide back and forth separately from each other….For this reason, I am always suspect on cutting anyone’s Stainless Steel braided Hose using an abrasive Chop Saw…Does anyone know if this a problem with Fragola Hose, or if using an abrasive Chop Saw, will the Fragola Hose (or other high quality Hose) not “separate” due to the high heat generated when cutting?

What is the “best method” to use when cutting the larger 16AN size Fragola 3000 Hose? Would appreciate any thoughts on this.

Harold
