How NHRA did it in Comp at Maple Grove, was to make Tom Martino`s ( #2 -.716) index go from 8.85 in RD1 to 8.67 (-.180) in the Final. Not sure if it is his personal index and/or if C/SM got whacked, but that's brutal. Spread between #1 (-.740) and #21 (-.498) is .242.

In the third round Tom went -.52 under which lowered his index .02 for the semi final against Aragona. In that round he went .66 under which lowered it another .16 hence the -.18 in the finals. He will have his personal index lowered .08 come tomorrow and the class index will remain the same. But in Aragona's case, he already had 10 personal against him and he ran -.69 vs Tom so he will move the J/AA class index another .09 down.

ps if you have no personal index, you have to run -.71 under to move the class index
