You are ALWAYS better off by keeping the oil as far away from the crank as possible.
If you "kick out" the pan such that with 5 Qts. in the pan (as an example) the oil is 1/2" further away from the crank, you will: 1) make more power (a few HP) 2) have lower oil temperatures 3) have less air (aeration) in the oil the enters the oil pump. |
