It's merrily a case of poor judgment of one party that that led to a very unfortunate accident. Also Average person in the U.S. is 5ft10in and the average height of a SC car is what around 3ft 8in? so odds are if it was a person standing in the exact same spot Mr. Downing would have been able to see them over his standard 4" cowl induction hood on the CJ and adjust.

So if a racer hits a wall that is less than average height, it's the walls fault?
