carb help, Holley dbl pump.

sorry if posting in wrong category but you guys seem best at this. OK my problem. i have an 830 dbl pump on my 11.60 street/strip car. when i shut it off it takes a little open throttle and some turning over to start. i have bolted on my quickfuel 1050 (4150) and it will fire instantly, what is going on????
both carbs are almost identical in that they both have the proform main body. and i bought all quickfuel replacement stuff for the 830. IE. metering blocks and bowls. everything else works fine, it is just frustrating to have to spin it over for a few sec. to start. help, please!
