If you KNEW Marion and his family.... or paid attention to how much he rushed to get ready for that round..... or understood the nuances of running a comp car.... you would never question his integrity!

I'm sure Robbie and Tabitha understood the situation. The only issue I see is the staging person should not have sent Robbie to the burnout box BUT knowing the two cars were using staging lanes on opposite sides of the track he/she probably didn't realize Corndog wasn't there yet.

Couldn't have said it any better

As I understand it, Marion had a super important Corn Dog Association conference call that he couldn't miss, so lets show him a little discretion. Perhaps next time his hired gun could fill in...

If race officials told him to suit up and pull Into the water box the timer should've started. Otherwise common sense should've been applied and told the racer to relax in the staging lanes that his opponent would be along shortly.

Ever run 2 cars it?s tuff
it is the racers' responsibility to be on time! NHRA and IHRA has said it many times! They didn't wait for me when i raced 2 cars at Bristol before. I had won the roundin ss, and i was racing up the return rd. to get in my modified car and my opponent was already finished his burnout and i raced right by the water box because he was already staging. Staged my car with no burnout and water on the tires, and luckily he redlighted because i of course blew the tires off with water on the tires and no burnout!!! I was furious, but IHRA said tough ****, it's your responsibility, Not ours for you to be there!!!- just saying!!!

Nhra should not have sent the car to the water box without an opponent ready to race IMO.
But, Nhra didn't make the driver go red though.
My 2🪙.
