3 million people will soon be eligible to shop at military commissaries & exchanges. Starting Jan. 1, all service-connected disabled veterans, Purple Heart recipients, former POWs & primary veteran caregivers will be eligible. http://bit.ly/337iu7m

Re: Military Commissary Usage
Right now, Active Duty and members of the Reserve Components as well as Retirees can use the Commissaries and Exchanges in CONUS. Honorably Discharged veterans have access to the Exchanges via their websites only, they just need to register in the DEERS system and they can start shopping.
If you live close to a Commissary, and are eligible, you can save a significant amount of money. Most of the stores also carry a large selection of imported foods, for those of us who enjoy it!
