I've become numb to the Alinsky tactic of calling someone a racist without any proof. The accusation no longer carries any weight with me. As Saul Alinsky wrote in "Rules for Radicals", there is no defense when someone accuses you of being a racist. You cannot prove you aren't one. But your integrity and character can be publicly damaged all the same. While this used to be a tactic only used by radicals, this and many others thrown around by liberal thinking people are now mainstream.

I used to promote musclecar shows/races and we booked Union Grove back in the 80s. It is the only track I've ever been to where the announcer is shilling 12 packs of Old Style instead of hot dogs. Looking at the stands, I'd guess every 2nd or 3rd person had a pack on the floor in front of them. So if things are still the same, I'm only surprised that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often there.

Gateway in St Louis has had Black Sunday for years. It's put on by a benevolent organization with proceeds going to help those in need. It has been there for years and other than the NHRA nationals seems to be one of the track's largest events. I have never heard of any problems those weekends, other than the minor stuff that happens at every race. And yes, the gates are open to all and they pay good prize money.

The gang shootings are out of control in most of the country. I hate to see them happening at a track because every national news source I saw referred to it as a drag strip/drag racing shooting.

Dan, in the 1980's, everybody at Great Lakes was drinking lots of adult beverages. However, I don't ever remember anyone being shot to death while waiting for a hot dog. No, Dan, beer had nothing whatsoever to do with the gang banger killing the other bangers. Crack cocaine and heroine were probably the beverage of choice.

Black, white, hispanic, native american or otherwise, this kind of violence is a global social issue. Look at the middle east.
It is a tragedy that innocent law abiding people have to live with this, but I feel no sorrow for these thug gang members, they got what the signed up for.

Oh by the way, Great Lakes needs to reassess their business model.

No Mike, I was referring to the noted Marxist scholar from the University of Chicago. His name was Saul Alinsky; who was a mentor of one Hillary Rodham in her collegiate days. I'm afraid I don't know a Saul Greenbaum.
