Must admit I have no idea if evacuation systems really help. I'm working on a flathead Land Speed motor and wonder if it would help the little guy out. Any pros and cons would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is a vacuum pump allowed or just a closed system using engine vacuum and a check valve ?
Vacuum pumps are well documented to increase Hp even without low tension rings . I know of a few Stockers with ring packages that slow drastically without the PCV pulling a vacuum in the pan .

Thanks Tom. Good point. I was told by SCTA tech that pan evacuation was legal. I can contact them to be sure that we are talking about the same thing, ie, pumps.

Just be careful that the engine is sealed. Things like main seals, dipstick tube etc. Nice thing is they tend to leak a lot less. Us pcv system for low rpm and header evacuation system for high speed.
