I've centered the steering box after inspection, replaced center link and idler arm. Installed Ed Quay bump steer kit with new inner tie rods. Installed Quay steering stabilizer. Checked and adjusted wheel bearings, checked ball joints.
To set toe and center the steering I used a string araound the slicks to the frt. of the car. I set caster to 0* with the frt. raised 2" measured at the chin spoiler. With the car at rest my camber goes neg. At rest I can set 0 toe, but my toe in increases as I raise the frt. of the car, jacking under the K member. At 1" the toe in goes to 3/8" and at 2" I'm up to 1/2" of toe in. i installed the Quay bump steer kit as it came as suggested by Quay. My car does sit low measuring 26 1/2" to the wheel well opening with 26" frt. runners at 38psi. Last edited by Eman; 05-30-2014 at 09:16 PM. Reason: I typed caster instead of camber. |

Why would you want 0 degrees caster at the ride height you are at going down the track?

I'm sorry, I meant camber. My mind wanders off on it's own sometimes.
I fixed original post. |

I ran the car last night and I believe we'll have no more wobble. First few passes I had a death grip on the wheel until I could relax and trust the car again. Made plenty of passes and the track came in after it cooled down and no problems.
I'd like to thank everyone that gave me input in resolving the problem. |
