Got a question about oil pressure. I noticed during my last run that when the car shifted into 2nd gear my oil pressure dropped to about 15-20 for approx. 1 second then went right back to 45- 50 for the remainder of the run and the return road. The motor is a super stock Ford 289. I use a canton pan and pick up. I double checked the pan to pick up clearance and seems to be ok. Any thoughts??????

Is it front sump or rear?
Also, HV pump or std. volume?

Maybe the oil is shifting to the rear while the car is accelerating while the wheels are up ,and Wow you are really multitasking I can barely watch the fuel pressure gauge and its right in my face.

Sorry, it is a front sump pan and a standard volume pump.

Is the sump open around the pick-up? A trap door/ baffle would help keep the oil at the pick-up.
