68 Camaro, legal Stocker chassis, BB 4-speed.Newer build, I have 30x9 D07 Hoosiers on now. I'm getting ready to buy new slicks and am wondering how well the stick shift M/T's work for guys who have run them. I like the Hoosiers, but always looking to improve. Do the M/T's last longer? 9.80 car,mid 1.30 shorts. Thanks!

Well its not as fast as your Camaro, but on my 85 Mustang M/S, I have used both the 3056ST 9x29 1/2 "stick" tire, as well as the 9 x29 Hoosier stick compound. The hoosier was a touch quicker, both brands seem to hold up quite well run wise. With its cvurrent bracket engine, my Mustang has gone 10.2-3 at 128mph, with a 1.37 60 foor on the Hoosiers. I have yet to try the MTs with this bracket engine.

The 1909 Goodyear is a very choice for a stick car. Made a big difference in my program. They run slightly bigger than the Hooisers, and the MT's

I also use the D07 30x9 Hoosiers on the advice of a former D/S record holder. They work well.

The 29.5x9 MT Stick tires were on my car when I won class at Indy 2012, 2013 as well as number 2 qualifier 10.02 @ 133.90 B/S (2012) Its the only tire I ever ran. I am sure the Hoosiers are equally as good.

With your setup. I would only run the Goodyear 1909 tire. I tried when I built my car to run the M/T 30x9ST and could not get it to hold the car. went with the 1909 Goodyear and love it.

Dana,
If you remember a few REALLY REALLY fast guys from your neck of the woods, they were always the quickest and fastest with that combination with the GY tire. |
