With all the flap about supercharged/turbocharged factory issues in the current flurry of factory wars, what would be the reaction if some factory built a drag race purpose car with a factory optional (check the box on the order form for option "N13") nitrous system? "High altitude passing boost system".

I'm still waiting for a factory to build a low-cost , no frills r.w.d. car that has a low advertised h.p. rating. (for insurance purposes)
Then, at the press preview, it is "accidently" leaked out that if you pull a certain wire out of it's plug, the car will gain 50 hp. ![]()

Why not ask for the 04-05 Saleen Focus N2O? It was a production car with nitrous. If I remember correctly so that it could be sold for emissions(dang liberal California hippies) the kit was fully installed but the main line was not screwed on and a fuse disconnected or something along that lines.
If a nitrous car was allowed I'm sure they would limit Jet size but would be good on in the hot humid days and at elevation. Oxygen in a can.

Alan don't worry I was on the same page lol.
But that could also be a double edge sword if the pressure isn't constant the cars consistancy will also suffer. Everything has its pluses and minuses. Personally I want a Ecoboost 5.0 Cobra Jet. Hmmmm Ford you listening??lol

Nitrous might be a stretch, but if history repeats itself what might be the next "big thing" after the SuperCar Shootout? Is it time to bring the Factory Experimental (FX) classes back with special "out the backdoor" setup's for match racing? That would seem to be the next logical progression.
Then they could add blowers and FI to Pro Stock . ![]() Lew
