Question 86 Camaro SS/GT headers?

We have an Ed Quay 1986 Camaro SS/GT car and the headers on it now (small block) are not racer friendly and look to be very old. Looking for suggestions on a decent header for this car .It has the 69 ,350 motor in it. Help me out here if you can .Maybe someone has gone to a big block and have some small block headers laying around collecting dust .Let me know. Thanks in advance.....

Danny, hooker 3 step headers are nice if you can find them, they will fit unless your engine has been set back then you have to modify them to fit. I have them on my 95 firebird and had to make them fit due to engine set back... Luke SS 311

Thumbs up Re: 86 Camaro SS/GT headers?

The ones on here now are very tight (touching trans pan on driver side) and have to take loose to change oil filter. The engine is more than likely set back . I guess Ed Quay does this when he builds them. Thanks again..... Oh ,this car was originally built for a big block when Ronnie Williams had it .

DW, look on Ed Quay's website, he has headers that are made for these cars, with most of them available to fit the modifications he does to them.

Danny, I have a 1983 Camaro that I built using Ed Quay parts to be super stock legal, including the modified front crossmember, I also used the headers he sells for his cars. When I purchased them it was suggested to get them just tack welded, which I did and was glad because most of the tubes had to be cut and repositioned before final welding. I also cut the flanges and made each side into three pieces which I found them easier to install that way. Bob at Quays is very helpful and patient. Good luck.
