Default 68 Camaro - Calvert Split Mono -- why spacer reqd?

I will be ordering split monos for my 68 today. It has mono-leaf springs now.
What are the mono leaf spacers that they list as "required"?

We currently have two 1/2" spacers in my setup now for ride height, as well as to emulate the split mono thickness/bar angle. One above the spring and one below for the Cal-Trac angle.

Default Re: 68 Camaro - Calvert Split Mono -- why spacer reqd?

I called Travis and he said the spacers would be needed if my diff had stock, GM mono mounts (and multi leaf mounts as well).
We put the universals on when the rear end was built, so no spacers.
