2008-9 Impala 5.3
Does anybody know enough about these cars to tell me if the trans axle in these is different from the V-6 models and what would be involved in converting a V-6 car to V-8 LS?

The trans was a 4L65-e , with the small bell . The engine block was special , with the matching small bell . I think it was the same bell as the v-6 . This combo was also used in the last years of the Monte Carlo .

Interestingly, during my travels to Dubai, there were Australian built Chevy Luminas, Impalas and Caprice cars, with 5.3 and 5.7 LS engines, RWD and not FWD. |

trusty Commodores though we never used 5.3L .
Funny , if the US market had of got more onboard with the G8/GTO platform they might still be being built Tex |

GM built specific cars for use in the middle east. Those cars happened to be built in Australia and driver location same as the USA.Saw them powered by the 3.6 DOHC, 5.3 and 5.7 platforms.

I picked up the car tonIght , it's a 3900 V-6. Honestly don't remember that engine in an Impala. Will drive it this week and see what I think before I do anything to it.

Re: 2008-9 Impala 5.3
I remember seeing a Holden at a school district police parking lot in San Antonio. Couldn't figure out what it was so I asked. They said it was made maybe in Australia and when it had body damage it took months to get parts. Was left driver position. I forgot about that car , I wonder if it will go to auction soon.
