Damn! I would have bet against that brain being there! Are you sure they didn't mix your test results up with somebody else? Jim

Bananas are the most recognized source of the K+ (potassium) electrolyte but there are many others. "Leafy green vegetables such as spinach, parsley, and lettuce, as well as broccoli, peas, lima beans, tomatoes, and potatoes, especially the skins, all have significant levels of potassium. Fruits that contain this mineral include oranges and other citrus fruits, bananas, apples, avocados, raisins, and apricots, particularly dried. Whole grains, wheat germ, seeds, and nuts are high-potassium foods. Fish such as flounder, salmon, sardines, and cod are rich in potassium, and many meat foods contain even more potassium than sodium, although they often have additional sodium added as salt." (I stole that list off the net, lol). K+ is a very important but seldom thought of part of the human body. As a Paramedic we were taught the bigest problem associated with K+ levels out of the normal range is the affects on the heart. Electrolyte imbalances are most common with people that are on dialysis and diuretics but are not limited to them only. K+ touches more systems than just the heart muscle but the ticker does run the show and when it gets upset and "acts up" the other stuff has to take a back seat till later. High K+ levels (hyperkalemia) make the heart slow and sluggish (part of a lethal injection is a mega dose of K+ to stop the heart). Low K+ (hypokalemia) makes the heart iritable. Low K+ may cause an irregular heart beat or "skips" (PAC's, PVC's), abnormal rapid heart rhythms (tachycardias), or in severe cases lethal rhythms (ventricular fibrillation). K+ is self regulating and rarely needs help, but can't be ignored for long when it does. Glad to hear you problem has been found. Be careful with those bananas, they taste good but pack more gas than a Hess tanker lol. Hope some of my rambling helped in case you have not had a chance to search the topic. Good luck. Don Jackson
