on EFI cars yes, carbureted cars no.

Has to be an EFI car that came with a computer shifted Trans, right?
Not all injected cars did.

Any shifting has to be done internally not by a solenoid or air bottle in stock. The popular e shift that the fuel injected cars use is computer controlled but does not move the shift lever.
