Long. It goes back and forth without the ad of an oxygen bottle. Oxygen bottles are for old geezers that can't breathe. The Long shifter requires driver manipulation. There's even a separate lever for reverse. It's pretty complicated but after some practice you'll get the hang of it!

Jeff --for a manual trans a Long is a great shifter ya just need to make sure that you have heims on shifter rod ends- you have the nuetral adjustment pin set perfectly- no wear/slop in the shifter arms and that the sliders are not burred and it will shift like a dream---FED387

For autos...Turbo Action. I've had the same one in my car for roughly 25 years.

The new stick guys stay young because they don't waste all of their energy.... They should try shifting with their right hand and left foot at the same time, every time....... Now that was what made me an old man... Bob PS: Now I run, when I run, a TurboAction Cheetah Shifter

Turbo Action is a very good shifter
Not much to wear out or break. Great with Power Glide. Great with air and electric shifter. Manual shift with 3 Speed Auto not all that good with certain shift pattern. Precision Performance the finest shifter made. Never miss a shift. Works great shifting manually or air / electric Takes a little getting used to. Cost of the base model only a little higher than Turbo Action. Have used Turbo Action with PG for many years with no problem. With 3 Speed had trouble shifting 1st to 3rd. Not fun loosing rounds like that. NO problems with Precision Performance Products shifter.
