Is the water wetter a good product to stop corrosion in the cooling system especially with alum and water pump seals. Is this product good to use with straight water in a street/strip application’s I am planning to race more next summer and would like to take the antifreeze out and not have to change every time I go out. I live in a northern climate however the shop never gets below 40*F so antifreeze is not a must. Are their any other products that work better? Thanks in advance

Kevin, there are a number of very effective cooling system additives and I have found little to choose among Water Wetter from Redline, Purple Ice by Royal Purple and Radiator Relief, a product from Design Engineering. They all offer boiling point reduction and corrosion inhibitors.....take your pick.

It's a feature that applies to some applications - not necessarily competition specific. For what it's worth, I've never experienced a gasket breach while using these products.

Thanks for the input. My main conern is will this offer good enough anti corrosion properties. If the garage wasn't heated I would put antifreeze in and probably still will just as added insrance.Obviously the reason for taking the antifreeze out is not to cause problems at the track. Thanks again

Zinc drain plug in radiator and other places you put them like intake manifold heater core plugs helps with the corrosion thing .

Kevin,
Did you have any luck finding a New Weiand Team G Oval Port intake ?? Did you ever look at a Brodix HV 2007 for your project ? Ron |

I have had -40 RV antifreeze freeze in the container. I was told by the manufacture that RV antifreeze does not expand when frozen, so the pipes etc will not burst, unless you have water mixed with it.
