Has anyone had any bad experiences with solid motor mounts? I had heard that they could deform the cylinder block. Would the poly mounts with a torque brace be more efficient? Should a solid tranny mount be used with the solid side mounts?

A couple folks that I know personally have cracked their automatic transmission housings using a solid transmission mount.
Most use solid engine/frame mounts that I know of. Clark |

Solid motor mounts, a torque restraint, and a polyurethane transmission mount, is the ideal setup, if you're not allowed motorplates. And even with motor plates, front and mid, I use a polyurethane transmission mount, never a solid.

Used solid mounts and a rubber trans mount for the better part of the 17 years and over 4000 passes I made with this nearly 2 ton ride, without issue. I would never used a solid trans mount.
