Racers,
What are the option for a Posi/Locker unit in a Dana 60? What is the durability of such units? Thanks

Re: Dana 60 Posi/locker options
Never had a problem with the posi and we ran it a lot in 70-80s. Boy o boy is it heavy though and the spool is lighter and simpler for a dedicated drag car. Seems like they had 23 spline until 70 and then 35 as i seem to remember.

Re: Dana 60 Posi/locker options
23 spline to early '69 then 35 spline .
Both 11/2" dia. ...For a street/ race car I'd use the factory posi. The 6 gear posi is a brute weight wise, but very strong , I'v rarely seen a broken pinion or spyder gear. I used to add a second bevel spring plate to the pack to increase the clutch pressure. ...A little choppy around turns if you were going slow.
