Phil,
The 840 castings are rect. port heads with 2.19 int. and 1.72 exh. valves. They are closed chamber heads at 104.9 cc. Flow #s all depend on what you do with them as far as valve job and port work.

Jim, thank you very much for your reply! that answers my question. I'm looking at building a pump gas motor and I want all the quench I can get and that combustion chamber will work great for my purpose. By the way I don't trust all those other places that either don't have all the information or its so broad it doesn't answer the question(s)

Thanks again,

phil

GearJammer, For those running 427/425HP with a cast iron head in Stock & SS you will find that most run either the 840 or 291 head.

Ron thanks for the advise but I would hold and trust the word of those from this site that might be using them current or in the past over and above your recommendation. But thanks again for your reply.
