Default holder for dragster front wheels

We are making a spot for a dragster in our 3 car hauler and want to use the lift to support the front wheels on a dragster and then put a door car underneath it and i have seen plenty of guys that have dragster/door car set up and have a support for the front wheels. Is there a company that makes them or is it a special fabricated piece and is it only for that specific dragster

Ron,

Sounds like you just need a couple wheel chocks or saddles for the front wheels to sit in so they dont move around. I say that becuase you are using the car lift to hold the front of the dragster up. If that is the case I have a set of hard rubber wheel saddles that I use when I not hanging my dragster. I cant tell you where I found them or got them nor cant find them anywhere on the internet. But the name on them is:

T C Christner and Sons
217 223 7993.

You can just throw them on the lift and sit the tires in them and the dragster should be ok. When I hang my car the front wheels sit in aluminum saddles made by Motorsports. All either one of these do is just keep the dragster from walking around . If you tie the front end down you probably dont need either.

Call me if you need more info.

Kent

Don't forget to rig up some form of chassis-saver. A friend of mine hoists the front end (to part a car underneath) and has rigged an additional support at the car mid-point to insure he isn't bouncing the car in half as he wanders down the road.

When I was hauling 2 cars I used an airshock to suspend the chassis in the rear to keep from ruining the shock and chassis on my dragster. It's very easy to construct and works great. You can buy or make the saddles for the front wheels, another easy deal.

I almost forgot, the easiest way to secure the front end is to place a hard rubber bumper beneath the chassis directly under the axle and let the wheels hang free. Just use a strap to secure. It's much easier on the chassis than wheel saddles. Anything you can do to prohibit motion is a very good thing.
