Just wondering if anybody has any experience on how to effectivley slowing a car down about 8 tenths to 1 sec. in order to into two classes. The car should run somewhere around 11.8 - 12.0 flat out. looking to slow it down to 12.8 to make the sportsman class brake.
Thanks. Last edited by CJohnson; 02-16-2010 at 04:10 PM. |

Weight, shift lower, take timing out. That will get you there.

He said he wanted to slow down a second not make it a second faster....lol..
Mechanical throtle stops work good, would need to add too much weight to get that much out of it... May try swaping out the 4bbl for a decent 2 bbl carb... less fuel/air= less power.... |

I'd try a restrictor plate under a spacer or disconnect the secondaries or restrict the throttle opening or all of the above.

I'd try a restrictor plate under a spacer or disconnect the secondaries or restrict the throttle opening or all of the above. I took 3 seconds out of a 10 second car by only allowing the carb to open about a third of the way. I put a piece of aluminum on the underside of the pedal.
