I have a bracket car i usually run 1/8th mile finllay ran 1/4 mile a couple of weeks ago car ran
1.42 6.69 101.4 10.59 123.8MPH. The problem is I have to much gear is it was crossing @7000. With my current head and cam combo the motor makes peak power @5800/5900 and I really only want to turn my motor @6500. I run a 4.56 gear and a 28" slick So my question is should i swap to a 4.33 or a 4.11. Also I feel the current gear hurt the car in the 1/4 and the swap will help the car but how is the gear swap going to effect my 60 ft & 1/8 mile times. |

I'd think the 4.33 would be the way to go. The 4.11 would play havoc on the converter! I put 4.11 in my Nova once just to brake the engine in (ya know not turn it so hard right off the bat) heck it wouldn't even hardly get to the other end of the track! Put my 4.88 back in picked up .4
