I am looking to begin racing Super Comp next year and I was wondering roughly how much horsepower would be needed to make a 1700 lbs dragster run 8.70 or 8.80.
Thanks |

We had a light rear engine dragster with a 355 stock car claimer short block with some ported 292 iron heads that went 8.88. Same heads on a 355 with a good solid roller cam and 13 to 1 would run 8.60's. A 684 horsepower 383 will go into the 8.10's leaving lots of room for bad air in summer
