Default building a 71 nova stocker?

i curnetly have a 1971 nova that i curntly bracket race looking to turn it into a stocker wanted to get some ideas on a whats a good engine and trans and rear end combo with out breaking the bank and im not planing on seting the world record with it just wana know what are some classes i can make it any inpt would be nice curently has a 10 bolt rear and with a spool 4:56 gears with a mutli leaf springs with compition engenering slide a links (will this rear end work ) also can i clam it as a 68-72 nova?

Yep. Build it as a 69, with a 12 bolt and CalTracs, and buy the stuff Brian Oakes has for sale.

I ran the 71 motor in my nova for about 2 years. The best I went in H/SA was 11.37 with over a 100 runs on the motor. Woodro Josey built the motor and it was really strong. It's a real good combo I think it's currently rated at 270/274. I have a set of the heads and intake for that combo forsale for $125 if you are interested.

Auto is 283hp stick is 274hp

was that the 350 or the 307 and did it fit into i or g what trans and rear end did you use

Bill the 350 in 71 and 72 is only rated 278, I do not believe a 307 came in 1971 Nova

i think ive decided to run a 71 350/270 motor bobby did you run a 10 or 12 bolt? and what are the casting numbers on those heads and manifold

10 bolt with a spool.
Head # is 487
Manifold # is 469.
