Default NHRA?s reminder for Chillers at INDY

Ok Stock-Super stock racers looking for real situations as we have all done this before entering staging lanes,NHRA?s reminder about no portable chillers outside your pit area, how have they enforced this in the past a verbal warning? DQ run? ,with INDY approaching in a few weeks, let?s hear it!!!

Since Stock and Super Stock wasn't creating any kind of hazard and it was adding to the "Indy Excitement" the great Officials that they are realizes what us Stock and Super Stockers devote time and $$$$ to our cars,,they haven't done anything out of respect for us and our respect for them.
Chilling adds to the spectacle and drama of Stock and Super Stock Heads Up Dragracing at Indy.
Hopefully they make a very respectful decision to not enforce chillers at Indy outside our pits.

When I was there 2 years ago there was racers chilling their cars up near the staging lanes but not up in the actual staging lanes. Maybe this is the compromise. If that is the rule then it needs to be enforced that way. We chose not the chill the car I was driving because we had nothing for the car we were paired with first round. We opted to make a good competition run to be prepared for the Main event. Lost for class first round and the guy I ran was tossed for claiming the wrong engine combo later in the day after class runs were over.

I don?t know guys, they come out with a reminder just before Indy and some of you still think it would be OK to drag them up to the stageing lanes. Maybe it?s just me, but unless you are someone ?special?, I don?t think I would push it.

Keith, many S/SS racers think they're special.

It pretends to fuel the way I read it. General section 1.5 is fuel

Cuda340, its a good question, most of us that benefit from a chilled motor have chilled our cars up to the staging lanes without any problem running class or heads up at other races. I won't be at Indy, but would want to know what the norm is because you don't want to give up any advantage. It will be interesting to see if NHRA enforces the rule.

Ahh for the "good-old-days" when you went to the head of the lanes with 10 gallons of cold water in the trunk and dumped it backwards through the motor right there! ;-)

I was there Billy. Englishtown stagging lanes after stock time trials looked like a lake. I was usually dragging the little red wagon around like Jack and Jill. Then again we were all trying to go fast back then too since first round was random pick. Lots of circled Rs.
