Re: ppp shifter
Same problem but on a Cheetah shifter. Let wd40 dribble down shifter cable and fixed for 2 years now. I lost 2 rounds because of this problem

Re: ppp shifter
I’m sure you have checked the lever ( does it have multiple holes) for alignment ( pin moves freely in and out of lever) in each gear.? I have the same shifter and it’s positive every time.. I don’t hit mine but I’m sure you could.

When I upgraded from the PG to the TH200 I kept missing second gear with my Turbo Action Shifter. Not the shifters fault - driver error. Old habits are tuff to stop and tougher as we get older. Joe DeMarzo and Billy Marshall got me hooked up with a Hurst Quarter Stick shifter and once I got the feel for it , the shifter is working perfectly. My trans shift forward, so I hit it for Second, then grab and hold the lever and make the 2-3 shift. just make sure to let go of the lever once you've made the gear change. If you hold the stick and rock it slightly, you can unlock the neutral gate and go into neutral. Thats worked for me , and I hope that helps you. Have a Good Day! Respectfully, Henry Kunz 1534 H/SA |

Re: ppp shifter
This thread is about the PPP shifter not the Cheetah shifter that has performed flawlessly for 12 years I used it, never once did it not shift into 2nd gear with my turbo400, same cable as day 1 install and no maintenance ever done to the cable or the shifter. Just saying.

By the way this shifter was first install in 1993 and I bought it at a swap used. Second car in 2002. I would say your 12 year old shifter is brand. Just saying. |

Re: ppp shifter
I'm fighting a similar issue with the shifter hitting 3rd but the trans is not fully engaged. PPP solution was to lube the cable(which I did) or get a longer cable. The PPP seems to be sensitive to the bends in the cable.
