Need rules for car build
Trying to get my car set up so it will pass inspections. Are there other places, specific to my car, to look besides the generic standard NHRA rule book? Not the engine but the car itself.

Re: Need rules for car build
The car, as in Nova or Mustang, is basically irrelevant to inspection for tech. You need to know the class you want to run (Stock, Super Stock, ect.) and then go through the rules for that class line by line and compare it to your build. Note that some cars need to be in the NHRA Stock Car Classification Guide to be eligible to race. Acceptable body styles are generally listed in the first paragraph of each class section of the rule book.

Re: Need rules for car build
Thanks for input but I'm way past the points you brought up, maybe I'm asking the wrong questions.

Re: Need rules for car build
1969 Barracuda to run stock, 340 for now but will try 383 or 440 down the road. Seems a lot of the rules have changed in the last decade or so when I started this project. The last rule book I have is 2004 and the wording left a lot of room for interpretation. The best solution is talking to someone with the same type car (if they'll talk to me). Not trying to get secrets but what is acceptable to change or alter (from 2004) on suspension, rear end, wheel wells, roll bars-cage, seats.. Quite a lot of hoops to jump through just to get the last rule book, seeing if there's another way around that.

Re: Need rules for car build
The answers to all of your questions can be found in the rule book under the stock eliminator section. If you can't find a current rule book close to you, call Summit or Jegs and order one.
