Default Another towing lengh question

Ok so I am considering buying an open 2 car tag trailer around 40' total. now if I tow it with a motorhome 36-40' would this be legal, or is this a state to state deal? Does anyone tow this long a setup? (I'm sure I have seen longer) How is it on back road turns etc.? Currently at 32' m/h and a 32' total trailer.

Keith I'm at 70 feet total and wouldn't consider going longer. True it's a state by state deal but the RV industry is on the precipice of getting more big brother just like the OTR guys did a few years ago. Have to really plan routes even at 70 feet and with traffic circles popping up all the time it's easy to get caught unaware. Some of the cheaper built 20' stackers a possibility for you?

Not really, I have a newer trailer for the one car, going to purchase a diesel pusher soon so a stacker is not in the budget. Was only going to bring both cars to maybe 5 or so races I could buy a gooseneck but then would be limited to the p'up. I have even seen open stackers lol just not for me. Thanks for the reply, opinions and ideas are what I am after here. Last season at 2 races, I parked the enclosed trailer, ran home, and picked up the other car and open hauler. Not an ideal way of doing it.

I also thought about a rollback, or ramptruck pulling the enclosed trailer but I sure like the m/h at the nationals, example... keystone rain week

If you know which places you'll likely to travel to then you can always plan the optimum route(s) with easy on/off rest areas and avoiding those with weigh stations or areas known for zealous LEO's. Also, your total rig would be conspicuous and might beg "measure me!"

The state by state 'advertised' length is linked here...

Agree on the diesel pusher, wish I had done it sooner. If you're on the road overnight and don't care for WallyWorld or Rest Areas you can use this for finding a spot that can accommodate you without unhooking.
