Re: Monster energy drink to be NASCAR sponsor
And what will become of Kurt and Kyle Busch who both drive Monster sponsored cars?
I just read the press release comments and all the young drivers from the Xfinity Series are fired up about Monster pulling more younger fans into track racing. Don't think it will affect the companies drag race involvement. It's fairly limited and Courtney had a good year running their name. As a TV sport, NASCAR is more entertaining than what the networks present from the drags. The NASCAR announcers are better, too. I usually record the trucks, Xfinity and now Monster Cup (Can?) races to watch when I decompress from the strip. There's a track on the East coast that calls itself the Monster Mile. Might have a name change in it's future. Martensville - The Paper Clip - has nothing to worry about.

Re: Monster energy drink to be NASCAR sponsor
After all the times I've heard announcers say "Cup Cars" rather than "Sprint Cup Cars" during Pre-Race, Race, and Post Race telecasts, (don't think it is on the radio near us anymore) I'd guess it will no longer be called "Whatever Cup Series" for the new sponsor.

Re: Monster energy drink to be NASCAR sponsor
read somewhere that the monetary value was 2.5X LESS than what Sprint had paid.....if true or even close, the next round for NHRA isn't going to be easy

Re: Monster energy drink to be NASCAR sponsor
It hasjust been reported that Monster signed
a deal with NASCAR for 2 years at $20 million per year with an option for an additional 2 years. Less than a million bucks per race sounds pretty cheap to me and a good deal for Monster Energy |

Re: Monster energy drink to be NASCAR sponsor
Energy and 'caffeine push' drink industry is unbelievable. Guess I'm too frugal to 'get it' but sure wish I had bought some stock a few years ago. Imagine how much Red Bull pays to field a F1 team (yikes) and then the whole stadium supercross series is huge as well. I briefly thought about the impact on the Busch brothers but then came to my senses and thought who cares?
