2010 Schedule
As many of you already know Alan Carpenter is back at Roxboro. He contacted me back in November to see if we may be interested in having a 6 race series back at Roxboro for 2010 to coincide w/ their regular points program. After talking to quite a few members that supported the series last year we have decide to partner w/ Roxboro for all of our points earning events for 2010. There will be a guaranteed purse of $1000 to win and $200 runner up for all races. This will be a minium payout and we will revert back to "our" system of payout once we have exceeded the $1000 to win threshold. Also, your claimed events will be the best 5 out of 6 races that you attend and Roxboro will keep up w/the points. Alan and his staff are going to pursue sponsors for our year end points fund. In addition, if any racers have businesses or know of businesses that may be willing to donate $200 or product for advertising it would be put towards our championship winners. Roxboro has agreed to give a gold card for the 2011 season to our winner as well. We will probably continue to collect a membership fee that will go 100% to the year end championship fund.
Our current plan is to have additional races at Piedmont and Fayetteville as I think everyone enjoyed those events. However, they will not count towards our points program. In the past we ran the second Saturday in every month at Roxboro and that seemed to work well for everyone as it gave us a set monthly date. After reviewing the IHRA division and national schedules as well as NHRA races at Charlotte it looks as though the 2nd Saturday each month will work best again for 2010. We will have our first race in May and end in October. The dates are: May 8th June 12th July 10th August 14th Sept 11th October 9th November 13 will be a make up date I hope everyone will mark your calendars and be sure to thank Roxboro and Alan for stepping up and giving us a monthly race w/ a guaranteed purse!

Re: 2010 Schedule
please have Alan mail out some kind of form for the business owners that shows in writing where and how much we can send the "advertising" money to sponser this series. I know our check can be a receipt, but i'm old fashioned and would like something on paper written to verify my business expense. Thanks in advance!

Re: 2010 Schedule
I mentioned to Alan that we needed something in writing to give to sponsors so we'll work on that Jim.
Maybe we'll see you at Fayetteville if you don't sell your stuff Danny.

Re: 2010 Schedule
It's far when i got one track 10 minutes away ,another 4 tracks 30- 45 minutes away. Maybe i'm just getting burned out traveling with IHRA so much having to work. Getting old too ! lol .

Re: 2010 Schedule
I will bring a copy of the letter by for you. Alan gave me a handout for the racers that I passed out at Farmington last weekend. I will have more at Rockingham. Basically there are 3 levels of sponsorship w/ all the funds going to our year end points program. The Gold level, which is the title sponsor for the series, costs $1000 and gets a lot of different exposure that you can read about in the letter. There is a silver level for $500 and the Bronze level for $200. There are lots more details including the announcement of a gauranteed purse of $1000 to win and $200 runner up w/ no minimum car count. If anyone would like for me to e-mail, fax, or mail this to you let me know. We could certainly use everyone's support. If I could figure out how to post a copy on the website I would. Maybe Lee or Michael could help w/ that project.
Keep turnin' wrenches Reynolds...I'm ready to see that stocker on the track!
