So, you're running a -10% volume pump and what amounts to 0.003" on the mains? What is your clearance on the rods? What oil?

Sorry, you should read main bearing clearance are at .0029 +/- .0001. The rod clearance are at .0026. +/- .0001. The rod side clearance are at .014. 15W 40 oïl .
Thank!

That's a lot of oil clearance for a low volume pump, isn't it?
Which rod journals?

What are you using to come up with that clearance?

So, for all intents and purposes, that's about 0.003" on the mains, and 0.0025" on the rods.

Too much clearance for a -10% volume pump. And 15W40 is not really a good oil choice, either. You'll have about 10 psi hot at an idle of 800 RPM. And maybe 50 psi at 6000-7000 RPM.
