Default What if NHRA granted you a 20% reduction on h.p. on any ....

...combination currently eligible in the classification guide with 2 stipulations :

1. The combo must not have made one single pass under index at any national event, divisional event, or national open in the last 5 years ? (dormant combos)

2. The only racers that can submit that one request must have entered at least one NHRA race ( National, div. or Nat. open ) in the last 5 years

What would be your pick ?

I wonder how many new combos we would see ?

My pick would be the 2003 Mustang GT manual trans @ 260 hp.
That P.I. 2V modular looks like it has potential, plus those cars just look great.

I looked thru some stats in the G/S thru J/S from years past and did not see where anyone has tried that combo.

How about 1969 Boss 429 in SS. At 20% off would be 344hp.

61 bubbletop with a 348/250. 250 minus 20%? 200 HP, yeah that would fly and look coooool.

Heck of a reduction. Why would anything get a 20% reduction?

This is a (just for fun) thread Ed.

The tech department may not like a bunch of new combos to have to study up on.
But then again, they might welcome the challenge ?

We all know that it is unlikely NHRA would allow a 20% decrease, but it does raise the question of what combo would be the most fun to try.

IMO, I feel that almost every combo that has not been tried in the last several years ( or never has been tried at all ) is because the combo is over factored to begin with and racers feel it would be a waste of time and money to try it.
