Loose Rocker Promotions is proud to announce NitroPlate Hi-Temp Coatings as the sponsor of Saturday's $3,000-to-win S/SS Combo Warmup race. NitroPlate will also be awarding a $100 Gift Certificate to the five main winners of the weekend including the Stock Quick 32, Super Stock Quick 32, NitroPlate S/SS Combo Warmup, and both the Stock and Super Stock main event Eliminators on Sunday!

With our fellow Class racer Kevin Cradduck at the helm, NitroPlate has been an impressive supporter of sportsman racing. I can tell you from personal experience that they do phenomenal work. As most of you know, my car is an open trailer queen, and my headers have suffered as a result. They were rusted and pitted after too few years. I wasn't even sure what they would be able to do with them, but NitroPlate sent me back headers that looked like new. Even setting aside the performance and quick-cooling properties, just extending the life of my headers was cheap insurance. They do a lot more than just headers, too... other companies are working with NitroPlate on coatings, like QuickFuel Carburetors and HammerHead rearend housings. They've got a very informative website, with pricing and a complete explanation of their meticulous process. Good reading -- check it out at www.nitroplate.com, and Like them on Facebook.

Remember the Billy Nees "Under the Index for Under a Grand" project car? That Pontiac runs in the U/SA Stock Class. It's a group of guys that know how to have fun on a budget... but that doesn't mean they're not hypercompetitive and like going stupid-fast (all things being relative). Racers and fans of the class started putting up money for U/SA Class Eliminations even in the early planning stages of the Northern Class Nationals! Pledges so far:
- Jack McCarthy: $200/Win
- Terry Bell: $100/Win, $50/RU

Other classes are welcome to start their own Class Shootout funds as well. We'll advertise them on the event flyer, and the awards go right to the racers!

Loose Rocker Promotions has invited the Alex Denysenko to be the Grand Marshal at the 2014 Northern Class Nationals. Denysenko was the mastermind behind the original GM Performance Parts U.S. Class Nationals, which took place at Byron Dragway in Byron, IL in the summer of 2001. It was a Woodstock moment in Class Racing, with teams making the exodus anywhere from Florida to California to Canada. Without his groundbreaking feat standing as a testimony to the possibilities, the Northern Class Nationals might be little more than a glimmer of thought. We honor Alex Denysenko for his dedication, his vision, and his tremendous contribution to Stock and Super Stock racing.

Despite his title as Grand Marshall, Denysenko we would like to make it clear that he is of no relation to Bob Marshall, the other Bob Marshall, Marshall Amplifiers, Kenwood Amps, Ken Mallow, Marshmallow Peeps, Peeps Pennington, Jared Pennington, Mallie Pennington, or Craig Marshall... especially Craig Marshall.

(Sorry, always wanted to be Bob Frey) ;-)

Too easy! C'mon, working in four bracket racers, two musical support products and a food item (debatable, but my wife loves 'em) has gotta be pretty good! LOL

Funny stuff there, Mike...I agree with you on Peeps. Those things are just nasty. My wife loves them as well, however.

My daughter Melissa ran at the first class Nationals and believe me (despite the heat) that was one of the real fun races we attended. I enjoyed speaking to Mike at Grandpas Garage Sunday about the race combinations running at this event. He is definitely preparing for this race with all the facts. It will have something for EVERYONE who likes class racing. I especially like the Friday CIC SS race. This race is a long overdue addition to our class racing. NHRA might even take a hint for their races. I hope to attend and will definitely support it...
