tickets,it's mandated by either upper management or politicians as a sorce of revenue. So don't beat up on the copos because you got hassled by one.Remember, there's your side, his side, and the truth somewhere in between. BTW,I like my 1991A1 and 3" Charter Arms 44 special.

I think what he's talking about isn't that far back in time, but the not so recent past when racers carried only one car in one trailer (open like mine, or closed and no longer than 28'), that was towed by either a full sized pickup, or a Suburban? I know that more cars would fit into Bandimere Speedway (without needing the dreaded "North 40"), if rigs of such were the norm, and not visions of the past??? Besides, the 70's weren't so bad...We sure cared more about "MADE IN THE USA" then, thus a lot more people were able to go racing, than nowadays!!!

I believe that I am more than qualified to speak on law enforcement matters and the enforcement of CDL licenses and commercial vehicles.. I enforced these laws, however vague they may be, because it was my job. I did this for over 20 years. The federal government started this program about 15 years ago and there is funding that goes to states that participate in the education of law enforcement officers for the very purpose of taking out the bad apples that traverse our country everyday. Most of the safety laws concerning the vehicles is pretty sound. The portions of law that concern over length, who needs a CDL based upon the use of vehicle and what exactly defines these matters is not clear. In large police departments, they have dedicated units that enforce these laws. In smaller departments they send a few to these classes and they enforce part time due to man power issues. These units or individuals, who enforce these laws are educated with whatever laws that passed from sub par bills. Now if you think for a minute that when the stink hits the fan, that these law enforcement officers will not respond to any matter regardless if it is a major incident or a minor accident then you are sadly mistaken. They are out there their every day and night doing their jobs, whatever they might be, not for personal gain but to provide a piece of mind for their residents and that they will look out for their well being. I won't defend the crummy laws surrounding these issues, but it is someones job to enforce them because it is their mandate. The only way to make the necessary change, is for persons like Mr. Mackie to pursue the appeal process and get in touch with their state politicians and discuss these incidents. It is a pain in the *** to do these things, but it will never change if apathy is applied to these incidents. In conclusion, I state that it is you Sir that is misinformed. Good luck with your anarchistic views, it will take you far. I will be at Bowling Green, Indy and Belle Rose in the coming weeks if you wish to persuade me to your way of thinking. Better yet, don't waste your time on me, I won't change my way of thinking or misinforming others. Steve Williams |
