But that sure looks like fun! And you can't put a price on a good time! None of these combos are "killers" but can they be built for a reasonable price and will they go under the indexes? OBTW, 12.70s in Q is nothing to sneeze at!

I have a 66 Impala that will not cooperate with my budget, 283 2 barrel @ 170 is beginning yo look real good!!!!! Only seen one guy run one and it was not real stellar. Is this a bad combo for U/SA Billy or Mark? I'm talking CHEAP!!!!

Paul,

What kind of weight did the car have to carry?

I have tried a 1985 SVO Mustang for my son to drive in J/K or L stick... I should start it this weekend with the megasquirt on it.. I had it started already with all the stock computer and it didn't run great.. Thought it would be a dime rocket but think it will be more. We will have more info in the next few weeks.. I wanted to run a couple of points races this year but I dont know yet.. Lets see if it will run the index first. It is a low budget car but has some nice parts on it..
scott

PS ... I probably should have built the 83 84 gt turbo mustang or the 80 2.3 blow through car or even the tbird tc.. all would have been cheaper..

Just to stir up some conversation.. . .

15 6305 I/SA Todd Gale, West Richland WA, '70 Camaro 11.565 12.30 -0.735
16 6383 G/SA Will Kelly, Walla Walla WA, '70 Barracuda 11.273 12.00 -0.727

I see 5 potential "rockets" there. That 318 2bbl at -0.775 is impressive and probably more encouraging than most gave it credit when the topic was first discussed.

I can only imagine how thrilling it would be to be paired with one of those while driving an SS car at a combo race. LOL

I remember comments on the heads for the 305 2 barrel heads. 450 heads were the best of the castings species. Of those there was a difference between them and the better ones had clearer casting numbers. Anyone remember this? I will try to post pictures I took today of my castings and the numbers.
