I doubt you will find many people who can tell the difference by sight. FYI, the big block mounts move the engine forward a bit, so take that in to consideration.

Big block mounts also move the engine toward the passenger side. Transmission crossmember is different too (trans mount offset to the passenger side). Z bar is different (accounts for the offset). There’s more little stuff as well but all of the above is one big reason why header fit can become an issue in these cars. Some bbc headers are built for stock bbc locations. Some are not.

Absolutely. I shipped an engine to Sven way back in the '90s! Spent many hours on the phone with him. I always intended to go visit him.

Hi, nice to hear that. I bought the car from a norwegian who bought the car from Anders, Svens son. It`s a car with very fresh body but there must be a bilion people who has drilled holes in the firewall and floor, i have welded more fifty of them!! I gone have a 350 and 200 transmission so i got som new engine mounts from OER, a disaster!! they doesn`t fits at all.
How much does it moves the engine forward with BBC mounts?
Thank`s Torbjorn Laas

Is it the frame mounts that move the engine or the engine mounts?
I see moroso offers mounts but look like matching pairs. Same as energy suspension.

Frame mounts relocate engine. Going from memory about 3/4 or 1 inch.
It's not much but enough to make a difference in fitting headers.
'67-'68 are different from '69, so the motor mounts are different for '69 also.
Don't know why they changed but the width is different.

Also 302 engine frame mount is shorter also...
So there is that...

My '67 car was a 327 originally. When I built it as a 302, no problems with fitting. Later I decided to convert to a big block, so I went to Chevrolet and purchased new 396 frame mounts. I ordered headers from Jack Davis and when I tried to install them, they would not clear the crossmember. Jack said the headers were designed to use small block frame mounts "because everybody does that to move the engine back". So the small block mounts wen back into the car.

There is a difference.
