Default Rod bearings

Just went to order a set of rod bearings, have always used Clevite 77 trimetal with good results. I was informed no longer available, now only available in the A suffix aluminum material. I know this is the way most of the OEM's have gone, anyone had any problems going with the aluminum material?

Jim,

I switched to King bearings some years ago and they have held up great...showed much less wear then my old Clevites.

I've been using King Black Max bearings for several years with great results.
Besides good wear, they are more consistent in size when setting oil clearance .

Jim , is this for the 258?
I used King CR648SI bearings in Eric's engine.
They are the bi metal type , King does not have the Tri metal available for the 258.
No problems with wear on them .
