A/F guage & Data storage?

what is the easiest way to store date from an A/F gauge? I have an old lap top, [heavy but can be used]. can data be put into a ipad type thing? I assume that the gauge connects to a lap top [or?] via a serial terminal at the gauge. other than buying a whole A/F set up, where can I get a graph [program] for my lap top?
I am feeling like a women in a parts store in this area.
I race only at Vegas, 2200 feet, very dry, no trees and baro changes as the wind blows [which is all day long!]
need easy help please.
