Oil capacity.......what do you run?

Wet sumps.
How much oil do you guys carry in the sump?
I have a Gen 1 style SBC and carry 6-6.5 quarts plus filter.
Moroso pan.

7 quart pan on my 522, 6 quart pan on my 598, both filled with Mobil 1 synthetic 10W-30 .

So , I'll assume 7 quarts in the 522 and 6 quarts in the 598........

yes, including filter which on the 522 is a K&P http://kandpengineering.com/ that doesn't hold much and a Wix Racing filter on the 598 that holds about 1/2 quart but soon to be replaced with a K&P also.

I have run 5 quarts plus filter in the past in the 355 ( 7 quart pans ) .
BUT as you know , I've had oil starvation issues and as a part of my "shotgun" approach , I was thinking of adding oil.
As of now the 355 has 6 quarts total ( includes filter ).............I'll probably add another quart.

Your oil starvation issues are not due to running up to 1 1/2 quarts shy.

I'm sure I have that figured out now BUT , I was just curious as to what levels are common.......

SBC -- 6.5 qts total in my B&B 7 qt pan with a 51061R filter.

I am running 6 qts of the 30w Lightning Racing Oil in my 350. I have a Moroso Billet oil pump and an 8 qt pan. I also run a System One filter. I have run as much as 7 qts and as low as 5 qts with no issue. If you are bracket racing I would run 7 qts.
