Default Dawn for street bias plies?

It's quite well established that Dawn on the inside of slicks goes a long way to preventing leaks, but would this potentially be beneficial to non-slick bias ply tires, like trailer tires, Cokers, wheelbarrow tires, etc.?

Pete,

Will not hurt and should help some. Some more than others.
The innerliner is the first layer of rubber when building a tire. Different tires have different compounds and different numbers of layers.
The soap bonds and fills in small holes in the rubber, helping to reduce air leaks.
Sidewall is thinner and needs more focus than tread area.

There used to be a product made for mounting tires call Ru-Glyde that helped seal the beads to the rim on bias ply tubeless tires. We would paint the inside of slicks and trailer tires. Never a leak.

I have to think sidewall leakage is "luck of the draw" with (or without) the dish soap treatment. I have been soaping up the sidewalls when mounting new slicks for many years, but last month I put a new pair of MT 9 x 29.5 slicks on my Mustang, and when I took them to work to install them, I forgot my dishwashing soap. So I mounted them without any soap. But so far so good. After the first race on the new slicks, it stayed in the trailer for 2 weeks, and the tires lost less than 1 psi apiece in that time. I can say that I have slicks loose air much quicker if the tires have been dismounted and reinstalled, rather than if new tires were installed and left on the wheels until they needed replacing. I`m guessing that the stress of breaking down the beads on a thin wall drag slick hurts the sidewall integrity.
