Cool Re: Bad racing fuel ?????

Rick,

I had some problems with VP-110 a couple of years ago ... It's only go for testing, NHRA doesn't have it on the approve list !!! IHRA , does the last time I checked ?? The VP-110 is a mix of left over race fuels & does funny things to the plugs + tune-ups ... I finally changed to Sunoco 110 & now they are having problems passing NHRA checks ... I finally went to C-12 and it passes every-time ... The dollar or two difference isn't worth the time & money we spend to go to NHRA races !!!! LOL?

With Sunoco becoming the official fuel of NHRA, there should be less issues with fuel check and it should be available at the track as well. But they do have an extensive distribution network if you want to get it before a race.

No matter who's fuel I use, when I pump from the barrel I don't stick pump to bottom of barrel in case there is any water and that is always possible.
They may pumped off bottom of barrel and you got mixture of water and gas

A good investment for the trailer is a Specific gravity tester,Computech has a fair priced one.One way to tell if the fuel is going bad is by weight as bad fuel often will weigh heavier .Bill C.
