Default 4gc carb

Anyone care to share the trick to make this carb work in a wheel stand.? I have tryed most every thing more fuel pressure 13# and down to 9# 5 degrees to 10. open spacers 4 hole 1 inch to 13/4 all i can get under the hood .If I tie the car down then it spins. Will do it off the ft brake or trans brake, SMALL BLK 327 250HP. 3200lbs 5.38 2.52 92 inch 10.5 raidail tHE ENGINE JUST QUITS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE Wheel stand drops like a ton bricks . So far 1 broken trans case 1 broken oil pan. 1 bent set of headers. I have limters on the ft and wheelie bars. Its not the wheel stand just that the motor quits. A small holley it goes right down the track. I have 2 carbs 1 Deno 1 Prc they both do it. Help.

Retard the timing on launch. Doing so, you might run faster with just the timing retarded and / or the front tied down. The cheapest / easiest solution that pops up in my pea brain.

I run a Deano 4gc with a heads up spacer. 7 psi leaving at 9000 in the air never a problem. This is the angle spacer. I was told you cant run a flat spacer with a 4gc.

You can angle mill the carb flange as well as running a wedge spacer.

Maybe try lowering the float a bit. I tend to run the float in the 4gcsin my sticker just a bit lower than Deano has them set.

One thing that the guy from Product Engineering mentioned to me once had to do with fuel regulator mounting position. At the time, he was talking Q Jets, but his concern was a fuel regulator being mounted ahead of the carb. He said the g force of the launch could hit the needle on the launch and blow it off of the seat.

Our stocker would leave pretty high in J Stick at 7200 with no issues. Stock manifold with no wedge, just felpro base gaskets.

Try lowering the fuel pressure even more, as low as 4 or 5 lbs. It works for Q-Jets.

I know it sounds backward, but what have you got to lose?
