This past Sunday was our $1,000 to win Super and Pro ET race and it was awesome. I thank each and every one of you who came out to race even though the weather was very wet in the morning and the fog was horrible until early afternoon.
We had 74 Pro ET cars and Denny McClusky and Jeff Jewell made it to the final and split due to light rain 30 minutes before curfew. Both racers received $925 each as some of the buyback money was added to the pot. Anthony Fetch was the lone semifinalist and took home $275 for his killer driving. The quarters paid $115 each and the eigths paid $70 each. Super was a little light with 16 cars but Raceway Park still paid out $1,000 to the winner even though that money was only guaranteed if 32 cars or more ran first round. Mike Barber and his awesome Paintworks Mustang defeated local favorite Steve Taxis and his blue '69 Camaro. Taxis received $250 for his efforts. The lone semifinalist was Ben Saia, who pocketed $75 for his strong effort. The weather was tough early on but it was a terrific day of hard racing and thanks again to each and every one of the racers who showed up to support this event and to the Raceway Park staff, who worked very hard on the track to get it up and running after a wet start. I look forward to more exciting racing at Raceway Park in 2013.
